My fav Braised Duck Rice
I use to have family breakfast every sunday when i was still quite young.
it went on till when i was almost 16yrs old i think.
im not sure why we broke the tradition eventually....
i do miss that somehow.
One of the place my dad use to bring us, is the braised duck stall at what we call the "zhup-luck-lau" a.k.a 16th storey / Commonwealth.
Use to be in the old single storey hawker centre.
I remember we will order the duck rice plus the yong-tau-foo next to it.
i always say this 2 have to come together.
they are the perfect match!
the tradition stays in my heart even though we hardly eat together as a family in this area.
sometimes i still patronise these stalls with my mum, sista and livingstone.
flashbacks of my dad disciplining us on the table always comes back to me when i eat this dish.
the tender meat, the gravy (which is not thick) and the fragrant rice.... i can gobble 2 plates of rice everytime !!
YUMMY again!
