Ab-So-Lute-Ly no time for myself....

Monday, February 27, 2006

i begin to miss the time when i come back and enjoy my own time alone in my own private space.
Now i had to come back and be like a part time mother.
I had no time to repaint my toe nails.
no time to surf net.
no time to update my blog.
no time to read magazines.
no time to listen to my fav radio stations.
no time to pamper myself at all...

I use to be able to do all these during my weekdays.
but it did not happen for almost 3 wks...

my nieces need our attention now.
i can't possibly reject....

good half day

Thursday, February 23, 2006

i rx a call from my mum close to lunch time, and i decided to take an urgent half day leave to settle some domestic problem.

anyway, it was a good half day too.....
i haven had enuf time for the past few mths to change my bedsheet, and iron my basket of clothes.
the half day was a very very very good opportunity or me to clr my rm...

i took 2 whole hrs to complete my ironing!
gosh....and i had to squeeze all of the clothings into my tiny 2 door wardrobe....
wat a challenge....

i actually look forward to attend the boxercise last nite, becos it was gonna be keith's last lesson at cfc....
unfortunately, had to skip it.... arghhhhhh
but, like i always said, 'everything happens with a purpose'....
we had a mini and simple 'reunion dinner' last nite.
hur hur hur...

Meeting up with them....

long time.
i almost couldn't recognise Ros when i was searching for her between the shelves in borders....
then I saw a pair of timberland boots with an orange and brown robe above it.. haha....i reverse and went back to see if what i was seeing, was wat i was thinking.
ya la, it has to be him.
Ming-Ee fa shi.
the ren-ci hospital's boss.
friendly chap.
at least he said 'Hi' to me. =)

found the pretty Ros! =)

we had dinner @ Sun and Moon again, together with Christine and Amy.

the nite's topic had to be parenting.

a 4 yr old

Wednesday, February 15, 2006

i couldn't much recall what i had done when i was 4-years old.
i thought it was a young age to know what was going on around me, except for father, mother, siblings, kindergarthen, macdonald, playground, tv....... i guess its those simplest things in life...

i've seen a 4-yr old girl, who tells me that she misses her parents (her parents went away for some reason). She had tears in her eye when she tells me that.
I explained to her what is happening in her hse, and i hope she will understand.
She nodded her head, as in agreeing that she has to be sensible at this pt of time when i told her so.
she wiped her tears, and lied down on my bed to rest, while i take my shower.
When i am done, i found her alrd asleep, i cover her with a blanket,
and i saw a drop of tear still in her eyes, it hasn't trickled down her cheeks.

I knew she has suffered.

On another day, early in the morning, she woke up herself.
I heard her, but i was still lazy, and had snooze my alarm clock for another 5 mins.
she went out to the hall, i heard some mumblings. She did not on the lights.
I pulled myself up and went to the hall, there she was, kneeling before the altar,
"pls....pls...." she had tears in her eyes.
i asked her what she was doing, she said she was praying to god.
she wants god to help her parents, for otherwise her parents cannot come back.

It was clearer to me that she has suffered.

Last Saturday of CNY.

Tuesday, February 14, 2006

on the last weekend of CNY, it became my gambling day... hur hur hur...

blackjack

and my luck was not bad....though my stake was low, jus $1 per bet.
anyway, our objective was a lunch-get-together @ our boss's hse.

lou-hei

of cos cannot miss the lou-hei session....

i dropped by gracious home fair at expo.
im sorry to say that, but i never had a good impression abt IDs.
they tend to give me the 'i-am-only-interested-to-sell-you-my-package' attitude each time i speak to one.
We spoke to one particular ID that evening, and i might have given him the 'im-tired-and-pissed-of-ur-sales-talk' look, because he wrapped up our discussion saying "im sorry if i sound like im doing hard pushing of sales, ....etc etc etc"
for goodness sake, it is alrd obvious to him that he is!
we went thru the package and he expected us to sign it right there on that dotted line!
and he even tell us "at the end of the day, when u accumulated many ID's layout plan and quotation, how would u decide which ID to award the contract to?....they would be just papers...etc etc..."
is he alrdy telling me that they are all con-man????

i put that case to rest since i noe i won't be awarding the project to him or any IDs.

and we con't a 2nd round of mahjong session until 3am with the Tans and Kee. heh heh

The Little Ones...

Thursday, February 09, 2006

I came home today, and saw the kids at home.
So i pretended that Im bloody tired, and jus lie on the floor, as if i jus fainted...
i said, "ar....im so tired...."
Ah Bee stood up, ran into the room, and got me a pillow, "Siao Gu, give u pillow."
(wow!)
Ego must have striked Ryan boy, he quickly ran into the room, shouting, "Xiao yee, u wan bolster or not?"
haha....

cute hor.... :)

A gift from an Author

Tuesday, February 07, 2006

i rx a big envelope this evening.
and i instantly know what it is.
it is a lovely book from the original author i met during my LAOS trip.

he offer to send me his new book but i did not expect it to be so fast.
it is a lovely surprise.

Now i should shop for a thank you card....
this is an act from an angel.

After a Week...

after a week of non-gym, yesterday was a sweating day again.
fortunately, the food in LAOS are pretty healthy, the fish we eat are mostly steamed, basically, the food is like thai food.
not too much of curry or tom-yam though.

it's amazing, how, when i walked out of the gym at 10pm, there are still pple making an entrance and working it out. at 10 pm....
it jus goes to show that we are living in a busy city.
with pple knocking off late at nite,
partying till late,
that they only have time for the work-outs just before they go to bed....

CNY Day 1

Monday, February 06, 2006

ryan boy

Ryan boy in his cny's clothes. ....pretending to be a computer expert.
and that picture on the monitor happen to be sean. haha...

the fireworks with the nieces

the nieces came and we were playing fireworks at the corridor...
and livingstone has to be the fireman. that's my hero...

us
that's us. self-taken.

yummy prawns
Yummy!! these had got to be the best!
ever since my mum started looking after ryan boy, she hasn't been cooking.
too bz.
age is catching up,
she can't multi-task as good as she can compare to her younger days.
and so, its the CNY dinner that i looked forward.
with the yummilicious prawn fritters, abalone soup, the leafy greens, the fish, the chicken, the bee-hoon, the ngor-hiong, wow....my mouth is watering....

but this year, livingstone's family decided to have another dinner tonite.
and so, we have to eat moderately at home, and continue the 2nd round at furama hotel.

the menuyu-shengsharks finthe dessert

photos: the menu / the yu-sheng / the sharks fin / the dessert

i enjoy sitting around a table, sharing the same dish, chatting and laughing, it is a kind of luxury to me, expecially when siblings starts to have their own family, the priority starts to change. Many things are beyond our control, our schedules, the willingness, etc. so.... as long as i have a chance to sit down and have a simple meal with my loved ones, anytime, i feel luxurious.

i had to also pack up my bag after dinner, as we were leaving for LAOS on the 2nd day of CNY....

Let's start from CNY's EVE

Sunday, February 05, 2006

(backlogs again....)

HUO YUAN JIA.
another movie i though i wouldn't wanna watch. But i did, since livingstone wanted to.
and it was again, like king kong. NICE show.

huo yuan jia

I was pretending to tape the movie jus like wat the piraters did.
haha...

fireworks was next!!
we walked over to esplanade from suntec, and it was as usual, soooooo crowded.
after witnessing the fireworks for so many years, somehow i thought, it doesn't give me the excitement anymore....but needless to say, the sky-symphony was really good. with the new pattern they included this year, it still does deserve a thumbs-up.
