Kim Gary @ VivoCity : Part 1 for the day

Tuesday, November 27, 2007

It felt like we had not met for a while (wif my family),
so we met up in the sat afternoon, even though it was only gonna be a short one,
cos we had arranged to celebrate SX's surprise b'day on the same nite.

We couldn't get off work until abt 1.30pm that afternoon, so by the time we picked them them up at Bishan, it was 2pm+.
Mad rush!
I suggested Vivcity for lunch, and then we ended up at Kim Gary HK Cafe.

Since I ordered rice, my sister was very happy, cos that meant she can eat somthing else,
and so she left me sharing my lunch with ryan boy. *bleh*
she ordered the chili soup noodle.

livingstone ordered the combination baked rice.

and I ordered the cheese baked rice, to be shared with my ryan boy.

Being not my mother's best type of cusine, we helped her to order the shanghai la-mian.

look at the duo.....ryan boy giving his unker a bear hug all of a sudden. haha...

.....and posing for his potraits.

not at the best place lo....

cos while I was enjoying my lunch, ryan boy had climbed up the sofa behind me,
so posey.....eeeeeeeeek....

After lunch, we had to rush to Airport T3 to ambush..... =)

still, the shopping is uber-marvellous, the food? oh so uber-divine, the massage is oh-i-dun-hv-to-comment-anymore.... =)
After all, our objective there was to eat, shop and massage!!
Lunch:

the oysters deserved a close-up:

i so missed it now... :(

I like the tuk tuk's color.

A&W! I grew up with his curly fries and root beer float lo! haha....

How can I not reward my dearest Livingstone for having grab those last min shopping before our flight in the evening?

we quickly proceed to the nearest massage palour for the 1 hr session.

Shiok!

A total of 11 pairs of shoes in my luggage!! victory to my shoe cabinet!!

It's shop, eat and massage in Thailand rite?
so, lunch:

the drumstik is so uber-good!!

Thai(s) worshipped their kings like nobody's business, we all noe that.

u noe every monday they will wear yellow to show respect to the king?
bcos the king's fav color is YELLOW.
well, u can even wear the yellow polo tee everyday....

our tuk tuk driver.

on the 17th storey, with a balcony, we can catch Bangkok City's sunset.

On day 3, these are the shoes i bought, for my caterpillar feets....

hee....9 pairs....and counting? =p

unlike some other men....Livingstone doesn't nag at me for getting those new shoes.

in fact he encourages me to get more!
he say, 'buy more buy more!' haha...
u won't believe it, but this statement was truely from him. =)

Dinner:

gosh, this is uber delicious lo! i could have asked for more!

Met budd for massage at the usual place.

uber satisfying! 1 hour of massage, with our 1 hr of conversation, non-stop ok!
haha....lucky there wasn't many customers in the house.
phew...
we must had been too talkative! heh heh...
livingstone had a full body massage upstairs, so he couldn't be bothered with our noise....
hur hur hur...

"Rise and Shine!!"
off we go to the breakfast provided by the hotel, but full house! no table! steady lo....

we stayed at level 17...

after breakfast, what do we do???
not to eat watermelon of cos! its off we go to JJ market!

took a train there, and started our shopping spree.

Was supposed to meet Budd and Max at JJ for lunch, but i couldn't get them on their phone,
so we ended up having our own lunch.

Settled down at abt 2pm in a cafe inside JJ, very nice food and drinks!!

Livingstone and his banana shake, with my ray ban sticker on the beautiful mug!

yummy, really yummilicious linguine!
P
i can't rave too much abt the spring roll, cos its too common to be extraordinary...

look at my mug for my ice cuppucino, i so like it!

hmmm....i noe, its nothing expensive, just a plastic mug,
but im impressed with the way the cafe staff dress up our drinks (in the market). so cool.

I thought I would not be able to meet budd, then i told livingstone,
"let's see if we are fated to meet without contacting!"
so, after lunch, we walk and walk, and not long after....viola!!

they were resting near the money changer! haha....

we got them! so happy! we went our seperate ways but arranged to meet for dinner and massage tonite...

During my past trips to BKK, i seldom take pictures, not as much as I will take when I visit our countries la, heh heh....so, as I was crossing the bridge to Platinum, I took a shot of the traffic jam in Pratunam area....I like the colorful cars they have on the road =)

then, beggars....im sure u noe....they are everywhere.... =(

I pity them, but my ability is limited....

back in Platinum, we had our fav sweet stuff! crepe, and it has to be banana and chocolate to be exact! =)

At nite, we met up with budd to have dinner at Central,

and they chose CoCa. not nice leh.
anyway, it was late, so we didnt order the suki.

budd must have ice-cream after dinner this time, so we barged into swensens, even though they were abt to close. =)

after dinner? M-A-S-S-A-G-E la....

130baht for 1 hr...wahlau.....cheap cheap lo....

BKK . 1

no rush, no frills, our flight was 12pm, so there was ample time to fill our stomach before the flight, and by the time we touch down bkk and proceed to the hotel, it was just nice to check in. =)

For the past trips to BKK, we always stayed in Novotel Siam Square,
this time, we decided to get another experience, and we booked Centrepoint Q-House at Petchburi.
I was abit afraid to open the door to our room, afraid that it would be like asia hotel...
when the door was 1/3 opened, Livingstone said, 'wah so big',

it was a studio apartment, so it came with attached kitchenette, fully equipped.
steady!

The bedroom was huge!
Fully equipped with radio system that can play DVDs!
and the funniest part was, we were able to view the lobby situation via the CCTV in our room!

It was programmed as one of the channels in our TV. haha...
so, when we call the lobby, we can tune to that channel, and see if they were making farnie faces while talking to us. haha...

HuNGRY!!!

to refill our stomach before we start our shopping, i decided to eat BK, heh heh,
jus outside the hotel onli.

mai tu liao!!!

I grabbed 2 pairs of shoes in this store, and proceeded to platinum mall.

Now, that's when the photo taking stopped, and our attention were on the shops and the stuff, hur hur hur..
Livingstone were also happy that we were very near to Pantip Plaza, and he can grab some DVDs and S/Ws.... =)
We combed the malls until they closed at abt 8pm, by then, we were ready to walk back to the hotel, to put our loot, and proceeded to Suan Lum....

Like what we expected, Suan Lum is no longer a gd place to shop anymore.
we went back to the same restaurant we patronised the other time for dinner.
its a puppet musuem in the day, and restaurant in the nite.
And this was our menu for our dinner at 11.pm... hur hur hur...

YUMMY shakes!!

tom yam! how can we miss tom yam here!
its livingstone's must have on the menu everyday in thailand lo.....

oh yes, and if I have to tell u another must-have on our itenary to thailand,
it is thai massage lo!!!
after the dinner, we went for full body massage at 12.30am....
by the time we finish, it was 1.30am...
hee...
and some of my loot for the nite?

nah, not many la.... =)

Off to BKK!!

Thursday, November 22, 2007

Finally after a while, we decided to go to BKK, my shopping paradise.
Why not? I can stock up on my shoes, my clothes, my bags, my bras & panties, ......
We can go massage as and when we like it, without feeling the pinch of the dollar(s) spent while enjoying...

Our flight was late morning, and we had Doreen drove us to the airport! Thanks man!!

Had our lunch at the staff canteen, before we board the flight, otherwise hor,

jetstar doesn't allow passengers to consume food bought outside the flight.

Livingstone must be thinking, how many pairs of shoes he'll be packing into the luggage for me this time...hur hur hur....

Afternoon Tea Party

Wednesday, November 21, 2007

We were celebrating Peggy's birthday the other nite,
and there was an inspiration to organise an afternoon tea party!
without further delay, we decided to do it on the next holiday ~ Deepavali!

Potluck, yah, u be saying, 'argh, what else???'
however, it has been our group's culture, and we kind of lurve the idea, and so, we are sticking to it, at least for now. =)

MENU:
Photo
from SX and HL...the pizza and the ice-cream...

from me, the mini pastry (tuna and fruits)...

although the fruit tarts was not meant for this party, but im glad to include them anyway =)

felin's strawberry tart!

ah siang contributed the papaya, and also cut it for us himself.

The reason why I mentioned that he cut them, was becos, he didn't know how to cut!
and all of us were teasing him.... haha...
and for the record, he bought papaya that was not riped... =p

peggy came, with flour, sesame and sugar....

to bake the sesame cookies...

we had a mini library reading corner in the living. heh heh...

the group sitting together, spending quality time. =)

What's an afternoon tea, without fresh flowers?
I bought gerbera to brighten up the occasion, and then, they decided to use it as props...

having fun!! =)

peggy also brought our childhood game along!

many heads think better? many eyes more power??

HL even showed us some head stunt while she observed which stix can be picked!

The nite ended at Kembangan, where we went for some mee sua for dinner.

It was a long day, but it was a very relaxing gathering we had,
not too much food we prepared this time, just nice to fill our stomach(s),
and then, we just sat there round the table, to chit chat together. sharing some ideas and philosophy.
It was fate, that I got to know this bunch of pple. Most of us shared some 10+ years together...
maybe that's why we always have so much to talk about. from common friends to common jobs, to common events, and to uncommon happenings and philosophies....
it takes alot of give and take to have us still keeping in contact with each other after so many years, and as our friends found their partners, our group multiplies... =)
hmmmm....
i love the way we are maintaining this bond.... =)

nah, nothing much....just me babbling.... =)
oh, did i mention that livingstone and I be flying to bangkok the next day? yeah!!!
