Many Many Many pple, raised their eyebrows, when I tell them that I have not yet introduced biscuits to my bb.She is turning 20mths tomorrow, shockening isn't it?It is likely bcos the mummy me, doesnt snack, which means, the bb dun get to snack. And why shld she snack on junk food?I choose to give her fruits and bread if she needs a snack in between her main meals.I am very fussy over what my bb eats. And I am open abt it. I dun hide.Pple give me the 'why-cannot-eat-look'? but i politely tell them it is just my personal preference. Not that the packaged biscuits will kill my bb (of cos it doesnt.), but, i believe there are other healthier alternatives to snacks. At the same time, i am trying to cultivate her self control skills, such that she doesnt fuss over what others are having, while she does not.So far so good, my family and close frens respect what we hv decided, and doesnt give her the extra food, or they will always ask me before they do offer her.Last wk, I baked the cranberry cookies (thanks to felin for the recipe!), I gave bb her first cookie.....and of cos, i enjoy watching her taking her every bite on her first cookie. =)
It doesnt mean I am open to all cookies now, Im still selective.and only those that i baked for now. Labels: bbtara, cookies, milestone, parenthood, thoughts

Two wks ago, i promised ryan boy that we will bake cookies together (after livingstone ate his cookies from subway). So he stayed up, without taking his nap, to watch the baking process.
with our help, he squeezed the 1st tray of cookies!
cooling the cookies with my sexy kitchenaid resting at the corner.... =)
I think I did not mention, Ryan boy has to wear glasses, he has myopia. So he collected his first pair of glasses, and it was my 1st time seeing him in it. Very cute and studious, but also makes my heart break ... i dunno why. Probably becos he is no longer as active with his glasses, he has to be careful not to break it, or lose it. And he has also become quite shy abt it.
And becos my mom touched 4D again, we had another dinner treat from her. This time we went to Jln Besar's Hokkien shop - Quan Xiang Yuan (Jing Ji) Seafood Restaurant.
 the hokkien mee
 prawn roll
 pi pa duck
 stir fried kai lan
 kong bah bun.
Total damage $48. Not bad, but my mom and sista dun really like it though.
ryan boy and livingstone, the spectacled duo.
then we had ryan boy wearing livingstone's glasses....he looked better isn't it! haha....Labels: baking, cookies, Dinner, ryan

We were celebrating Peggy's birthday the other nite, and there was an inspiration to organise an afternoon tea party! without further delay, we decided to do it on the next holiday ~ Deepavali!
Potluck, yah, u be saying, 'argh, what else???' however, it has been our group's culture, and we kind of lurve the idea, and so, we are sticking to it, at least for now. =)
 MENU:
from SX and HL...the pizza and the ice-cream...
from me, the mini pastry (tuna and fruits)...
although the fruit tarts was not meant for this party, but im glad to include them anyway =)
 felin's strawberry tart!
ah siang contributed the papaya, and also cut it for us himself. The reason why I mentioned that he cut them, was becos, he didn't know how to cut!and all of us were teasing him.... haha...and for the record, he bought papaya that was not riped... =p
peggy came, with flour, sesame and sugar....to bake the sesame cookies...
we had a mini library reading corner in the living. heh heh...
the group sitting together, spending quality time. =)
What's an afternoon tea, without fresh flowers?I bought gerbera to brighten up the occasion, and then, they decided to use it as props...
 having fun!! =)
peggy also brought our childhood game along!
many heads think better? many eyes more power??
HL even showed us some head stunt while she observed which stix can be picked!
The nite ended at Kembangan, where we went for some mee sua for dinner. It was a long day, but it was a very relaxing gathering we had,not too much food we prepared this time, just nice to fill our stomach(s),and then, we just sat there round the table, to chit chat together. sharing some ideas and philosophy. It was fate, that I got to know this bunch of pple. Most of us shared some 10+ years together...maybe that's why we always have so much to talk about. from common friends to common jobs, to common events, and to uncommon happenings and philosophies....it takes alot of give and take to have us still keeping in contact with each other after so many years, and as our friends found their partners, our group multiplies... =)hmmmm....i love the way we are maintaining this bond.... =)nah, nothing much....just me babbling.... =)oh, did i mention that livingstone and I be flying to bangkok the next day? yeah!!!
