We were celebrating Peggy's birthday the other nite, and there was an inspiration to organise an afternoon tea party! without further delay, we decided to do it on the next holiday ~ Deepavali!
Potluck, yah, u be saying, 'argh, what else???' however, it has been our group's culture, and we kind of lurve the idea, and so, we are sticking to it, at least for now. =)
 MENU:
from SX and HL...the pizza and the ice-cream...
from me, the mini pastry (tuna and fruits)...
although the fruit tarts was not meant for this party, but im glad to include them anyway =)
 felin's strawberry tart!
ah siang contributed the papaya, and also cut it for us himself. The reason why I mentioned that he cut them, was becos, he didn't know how to cut!and all of us were teasing him.... haha...and for the record, he bought papaya that was not riped... =p
peggy came, with flour, sesame and sugar....to bake the sesame cookies...
we had a mini library reading corner in the living. heh heh...
the group sitting together, spending quality time. =)
What's an afternoon tea, without fresh flowers?I bought gerbera to brighten up the occasion, and then, they decided to use it as props...
 having fun!! =)
peggy also brought our childhood game along!
many heads think better? many eyes more power??
HL even showed us some head stunt while she observed which stix can be picked!
The nite ended at Kembangan, where we went for some mee sua for dinner. It was a long day, but it was a very relaxing gathering we had,not too much food we prepared this time, just nice to fill our stomach(s),and then, we just sat there round the table, to chit chat together. sharing some ideas and philosophy. It was fate, that I got to know this bunch of pple. Most of us shared some 10+ years together...maybe that's why we always have so much to talk about. from common friends to common jobs, to common events, and to uncommon happenings and philosophies....it takes alot of give and take to have us still keeping in contact with each other after so many years, and as our friends found their partners, our group multiplies... =)hmmmm....i love the way we are maintaining this bond.... =)nah, nothing much....just me babbling.... =)oh, did i mention that livingstone and I be flying to bangkok the next day? yeah!!!

This is another session of team building. I noe.... i noe.... i noe what is in ur mind right now... this is my 5th team building programme for the past 7 months. its quite alot, but i am beginning to appreciate it, as the mgmt is trying to help us align our workplan along the way. Better then u work for the whole year, and doesn't know what is the team's objective, how your intiative has helped the rest of the pple, how's the performance, where are we now with regards to our target in 2010 and so on....
This time, the venue is at Yio Chu Kang, The Grassroot Club. very near my hse, hee hee...
And the much anticipating activity, creating our own window mosaic... and this was what our team created:
And the objective?:We have 12 groups, 12 window mosaics, we have a theme, that is to create a picture with the mosiacs, that shows either 1) synergy, 2) transformation or 3)growth.we appointed a ART director, and so, we created a story: As you can see, (the first row) everything started with a seed on the ground, and grew into a small plant, finally, blooming into a flower, the 2nd row, shows a lava, growing into 2 butterflies flying in the same direction.... and the 3rd row, shows the transformation from evening to morning!Bravo! team work is amazing, isn't it!From a blank sheet of paper, we created what-seemed-impossible-from-the-start.especially when it involves so many pple's brain, its not easy to co-ordinate and have everyone agreeing on the same concept.Labels: appreciative, challenge, discovery, encouraged, game, quality time

Hv been occupied for the past few weekends to fully focus my time for my family.I took half a day's leave on Tues, also to bring my mom to poly clinic to see a doctor so that we can be referred to specialist for her getting-worse kneel cap.everything happens with a purpose, really, i have to believe.bcos i took leave, to go to the clinic, instead of the long waiting list to see the specialist in SGH (usually 3 mths away)...i was given a slot for the immediate next day! was really lucky, cos some1 cancelled her appt.wow, like touch 4d!although it means i have to take another day's leave, but its all worth it! =)the earlier the better.took mom to tiong bahru plaza to eat our fav fish (Ed Fish Delight).everytime we eat this, we got reminded of her mom, my grandmother.mom will tell me how much my grandmother likes this stall, and how many times we have packet for her to eat before she passed away.....
its the usual teh-session at Ya-kun after our fish lunch.doreen joined us too! =)
thank you to whoever is watching over us.....Labels: appreciative, encouraged, Family, Food, Lunch, quality time

Met Annie for lunch, and the samatarian queued up for donuts and bought 1 box specially for me!Thank you sooooo much!It brightens my entire day to know that there is beauty in my world. the beautifully glazed donuts.
if i have to rate them agn, then, eat it while its hot, if u can't, reheat them in microwave oven when u reach home, 20seconds.it's nicer that way. =)Labels: baking, doughnuts, encouraged, Food, quality time, Surprise

Was supposed to meet budd for a morning jog at east coast, but it was raining as we woke up!! so, we decided to con't to sleep....
Had been arranging to go house visiting at my lunch khaki's hse for some time, and we finally had our first on 07-07-07!! at the same time, we also celebrated tinkle's birthday! it was a gd thing, we can see who is coming to the hse from her balcony, haha, here comes ah blur in her reddish mini!
 i baked her a cheesecake....
and we bought her a very feminine toiletries bag.... :)
see wat i spotted!somebody placed a merlion in their balcony!!!! haha....
the girls' party, with the 2 kids who covered their faces in front of the camera.... :)
met up with my family for dinner after tat, heh heh....see that cheeky face...
Livingstone is touching down in Singapore on the same nite, 5am. so, i tot, i might as well stayed up and go straight to the airport to pick him.budd throw me a very good idea, 'why dun we go hme and pick up our gear, and then we go east coast for midnight jog, then u can go and pick him after that!'haha.....i scolded her 'crazy' initially, but seeing how on she is, motivates me. haha....Instead of going to Amelia's party on sunday, we decided to go on the same nite at abt 1am, haha....

bought amelia an educational toytoy.....giant wall chart, with velcro pull-out objects, i like like.
Eddie joined us for the nite too! We promised him a few games of bowling prior to the midnight jog, :) Budd and me before the jog.
We finally started the jog at 3am, for abt 50mins.east coast never sleeps, no matter what time, the park is still alive with pple bbq-ing, cycling, fishing, chatting,.... but guess we were the only 3 who were jogging...I rem pple looking at their watches as we jogged past...... heh heh.....they must hv thought... 'these pple must hv ran out from IMH / Woodbridge....'we rest for a while before they accompany me to con't my journey to the airport,it's a beautiful morning! why waste it!we proceeded for breakfast at bedok! heh heh.....half-boiled eggs, teh, and bread.... yum yum!!
so that was us, who survived the .....hmmm.....almost 24 hrs..... haha... :)thank you them for keeping me awake!!!and i was so glad that livingstone is back..... :)
