Last Sunday, we met up with Daniel and Tricia for ang-mor style breakfast, at Jones the Grocer.it was packed packed packed at 10am....had to even wait a while for our table.Dressing up bbTara for the morning outing...did i mention, she gets excited when she sees books...

mommy is giving her tight fit top and tight fit shorts, lol...
in the car, trying to chew off her socks....
at Jones the Grocer, our cheerful bb.....thank God! she behaves yet agn, sitting in the high chair, while all of us had our breakfast and talkative chit chat session.... =)
unker daniel wears green too, wat nice shades they have!
at abt 11pm+, we can tell she was pretty sleepy, cos she had missed her morning nap....and when i took over to carry her, it was as if she fell unconscious all of a sudden! and slept all the way,....but it was neat, back at home, by the time she woke up, i had her lunch cooked. =)
Breakfast with unker daniel and aunty tricia! have fun in Paris!! =)and thank u livingstone, once again, he slept at 4am the nite before, but kept his promise and joined us for breakfast early in the morning the next day.... :)Labels: bbtara, breakfast, parenthood, quality time

After the unusual brekkie in town last weekend, we decided that we shld localised ourselves.nah...it was actually a convenient excuse, bcos livingstone slept at 4am the nite before (movie marathon, wat else?).So, we went downstairs for kopitiam after bbTara's milk..
 the curious baby...
entertained herself while we enjoy our breakfast...then, after our grocery shopping in NTUC, it started to rain cats and dogs! being me, I didnt want to sweat over the small stuff....so I suggest we walk to the porch, then sit and wait, while I sang 'raindrops keep falling on my head...thump thump thump...' to bbTara...slowly, she fell asleep. =)
so wat if we were stranded in the rain....livingstone was still able to read the papers, and my baby was still able to catch her morning nap. =)Labels: bbtara, breakfast, parenthood, relax, sunday

bbTara has been drooling non stop, those who have met her will ask me how come she kept drooling? give her a bib...is she teething? etc etc.... frankly, i have no idea... then that day, my neighbour's mil ask me, "u got something u wanna eat during preg but didnt get to eat issit?" wahahahaha....so i thought really hard...and i rem, arhhhhhh... i hv been wanting to go to Good Morning Nanyang Cafe...but couldn't find a gd time since livingstone is always sleeping late on fri/weekend nights. So i was telling livingstone abt it that evening, and on the same nite, daniel law posted on fb tt he had breakfast there! haha... awwwwwwwrite, for the many catalyst to trigger us, he said, 'let's go there for breakfast tml!' but trust me, i was rather skeptical abt his enthusiasim bcos i never like to disrupt his 'weekend movies at home nite'.... However, my kind husband really woke up early that sunday morning, all ready to head to town!
so after bbtara's morning milk, we got all changed and charged!
to our disappointment, IT WAS NOT OPEN ON SUNDAY! bloody hell.....
anw, we didnt waste that beautiful morning, so we went to have Good Morning Bah Kut Teh at Hong Lim Hawker Centre instead. haha...
and how could I miss this??? The raisin cream buns from BARCOOK = YUM!We bought 7 in total, and ate 3 on the spot. Gave 2 to our neighbours, and had the other 2 the next morning! YUM! YUM! YUM!
thank God! bbTara was VERY coperative even though we disrupted her morning slp after her milk...

back at the playground below our place....she was actually sleeping in the car on our way back...but she wasn't cranky even when we had to wake her up. Her power nap was enuf for her! (just like us) whooosh! our baby.... =p
so that was a quality morning adventure to town!Back at home, she knocked out so that i could start preparing her lunch....just as nice.... hee...thanks dear! u the best! =)Labels: appreciative, bbtara, breakfast, parenthood

I like mac's hotcakes. But I often couldn't finish them all. Maybe I got sick of the same maple syrup. And I have been watching alot of nigella's nowadays. And she taught the making of blueberry syrup for pancakes! It got me all excited! haha...So, that day, I decided to make it for ryan boi.
Warning, the syrup can cause serious staining.... haha...
and the recipe is soooo easy, that I shld share it with all of u!Blueberry Syrup Ingredients:125ml of maple syrup200g of blueberriesMethod:Bring the ingredients together and cook until boil. (Yesh, its that easy!)And if u need the recipe for the DIY pancakes mixture:600g of plain flour50g of baking powder2 tsp of bio-carb1 tsp of salt50g of castor sugarThen, all the above dry ingredients should go into a big jar with air-tight lid. Toss the jar so all the ingredients can mixed together. And bcos its dry, u can keep the mixture and make lotsa times! No need to buy from supermarket anymore. heh heh...Now, to prepare for abt 15pancakes, scoop 1 cup of pancake mixture from the jar, add 1 egg and 250ml of milk to the pancake mixture, whisk them together to form a batter. Finally melt 15g of butter and pour it into the batter. You are now ready to make the pancakes using a flat frying pan. No need for oil.Heat 1 min on 1 side, and half a min on the other side.Make any shapes of pancakes u fancy!!have fun!!Ryan boi was asking for pancakes on his way home at nite....I can't wait to share this with bbTara!Labels: bbtara, breakfast, DIY, home cooked food, pancakes, ryan

Actually, breakfast can be very simple. That morning, we decided to make our own at home. So, we bought baguette, cut into slices, and spread some margarine and ham onto it, and topped with lotsa mozarella cheese... (prep time takes prob the most 7mins)Goes into the oven for abt 4-5mins, and we have our own simple breakfast.
how nice....next time bbtara can join us, and i can make different patterns for her... =DLabels: breakfast, quality time

He seldom cook in our kitchen (for all i rem, only once - maggie mee). Though he used to make his own meals in UK in those days, but not anymore. That nite, before we fell asleep, he told me, 'tml i make breakfast for u'....haha....I was over the moon!finally, i got to eat something real from him! =)As promised, he woke up early and started the preparation. He was going to make french toast (his dad's way). yum yum...
so, he mixed magarine with egg for the batter. And I added on tomatos. heh heh...
And I must say his skills are pretty good!!! not chao tar at all!! =)Along with my fresh milk, this was my heartiest breakfast.... =)Labels: bread, breakfast, DIY, livingstone

Ever since I am pregnant with bbTara, breakfast has always been important to me. Not that I used to skip breakfast, but it wasn't as crucial. I guess it is so now, becos I have to eat my vitamins and supplements on time now.... That Sunday, livingstone was sooooooooooo sweet! He woke up early with me (not his usual sunday routine) and offered to go ntuc with me to buy the stuff for our DIY breakfast.... heh heh...
so, we had french toast, sausage and baked beans....
And ..... DIY strawberry milk. =)
we didnt add any sugar, so it actually tasted quite raw (for livingstone). So, I added some honey for him. =)
And....we have a visitor while we were having our brekkie... haha....
bbIssac!! He is our cute neighbour. ya, just next door. Our door is always open for him. =)Labels: breakfast, DIY, issac

My sista put me on a series of climax for National Day,first she called and say she has tickets for us to the parade, next, she called and say the tickets are for the Padang instead....So, we decided to forsake the tickets, and stay at hme to watch our plasma and our sky.... haha...It was a lovely morning, beautiful blue sky with cotton soft clouds greeting me "OHAYO!" as I pulled myself outta bed to prepare brekkie....(the same sky shall bring us the airshow brought to us by the black knights later in the nite)
Long long ago, I made my own mushroom-cheese-english-muffin, and since then, I havent found another gd time to make it... Today will be the day. Livingstone was delighted with his menu when he woke up....yummilicious!
I didnt make my own english muffins, bought it off the shelves, made by the proud pple of gardenia (grill it without oil!).sautee the portabella mushrooms, and sandwiched it with 2 slices of cheese...viola!!Our yummy DIY brekkie on the morning of National Day! =)Labels: breakfast, coris, DIY, holiday, home cooked food

Ever since I am pregnant, i need heavy breakfast. Livingstone has been very nice driving me around everyday early in the morning to satisfy me and my bb's appetite. =) So far no cravings, but I will think of my menu earlier so that we dun hv to be in a spot. have been going to bedok reservoir hawker centre most of the mornings, cos they sell soya bean milk there, which can quench my morning thirst!! And this, I have to mention:
Ipoh Hor Fun from "Chen Jia", one of the stalls that sells chicken rice and chicken curry noodle. For $2, a plate like this is heaven to me!! and its yummy!Labels: breakfast, ipoh hor fun

You noe ever since the NTUC is opened at our neighbourhood, I go there almost everyday, well....if not, once every two days....haha.... Im such a supermarket goer. Im getting out of hand, Livingstone gives me a frown and say 'huh, not again???' hur hur hur...
And I will hover around the food section (oh wat else does NTUC sells anyway! haha) and will imagine the taste of this and that. Many times, I told Livingstone, 'why dun we try this instant roti prata? we can bake it, it will be so convenient to eat it at home now...' he would say 'dun wan la, wea got nice?' the worst part is, the roti prata comes in like 20pcs per pack...and so, i was thinking, 'what if its really not nice? give kumar meh?' giving is easy, but i will have to go thru a nagging session from u-noe-who... hmph..... Fortunately, the other day, my sister was with me at the NTUC, and I told her I wanna try this prata thing, asked her to share with me. Bravo! cos she said 'OK!'
there it is, right in my frying pan (cos the instructions said pan-fry and not bake) no oil. Just medium heat. The prata looks like a sheet of paper when i unwrapped it. Was quite disappointed initially, cos I expected it to be like alrd done up, and all I have to do was to make hot... hee
However, after flipping it for abt 1-2 mins....the color changed! and I was presented with this nice chow-tar-and-not-so-chow-tar prata, that looked just like what I ordered from jln kayu!
within minutes, we have these pratas to share for breakfast!
No curry? NVM, we have sugar! heh heh....highly recommended. I realised I forgot to snap the pacakaging. Will do so the next time round. =)Labels: breakfast, discovery, roti prata

To be really really honest, we are not a huge fan for travelling in winter. We did it this time, bcos its the only time wea we can go for our longest vacation....so, that explains. =)
In this kind of super freaking cold weather, we are constantly looking for comfort food. I complained, 'how come they dun sell soup on the street in such a weather, only sell loti...argggh...' the only hot stuff we can find on the streets are hot tea or hot cappucino. But it turned cold in our hands too quickly to comfort us. =(
Had our breakfast in 'To Lubie', a small and cosy cafe in Warsaw, further down our apartment. Ordered 2 baskets of warm buns at 11zl each that comes with savoury fillings.
this is the common bun the locals eat daily. The cafe bought it from the supermarket, but re-toast it, it can sound farnie, but the buns they have there are very different from wat we have here. Our local bread taste good bcos of the accompanied filling, but over in europe, they have buns that are even good on its own! I kid u not. I noe nicole is complaining now, bcos she told me she find it too tough, which I agree too. But its tough on the outside, soft on the inside. hur hur hur...
and we had three kinds of savoury fillings: - egg and ham paste - cottage cheese with fresh herbs (livingstone's fav) - tuna fish, olives and cream cheese paste (my fav)
My hot chocolate with mint, sounds weird yah? it was practically melting min chocolate into beverage, serious! thick, and nice! The picture just doesn't do justice to it.
Before we left, I had to have a picture taken with the staff - a handsome and young chap. Again, the photo doesn't do him justice. heh heh, anyway, we were all looking so messy! To note, Polish men are handsome and the women are really pretty!
This is the entrance to wea we stayed:

Climbed up 11 storeys to the Taras Widokwowy viewing terrace for a bird's eye view of the old town.

Im on top of the world!! Those green, peach, orange and red houses in the old town does cheer up the pple parading on the street don't they? This old town has been included on Unesco's World Heritage List.
 Livingstone self potrait.
Cute dumplings 'statue' outside one of the restaurant depicting their local food.

This mall has a nice roof isn't it? so unique.
Proceeded to the train station to get our tickets to Krakow for the next day. Guide books always warn tourists not to stay in the train stations for too long. So, we were always very careful, afterall u dono who are the bad.
Hard Rock Cafe, is nearby to the Palace of Culture and Science. Now, that building has a very interesting history, if you would like to hear abt: This giant eyesore (to the Poles), is an apocalyptic pc of Stalinesque architecture. This 'gift of friendship' from the Soviet Union was built in the early 1950s. This gift from Stalin was said to be an option of either a metro system, or the palace. The people wanted a metro, so Stalin gave them the palace. Arghhh... that explains why it is an eyesore to the locals. An old joke held that the best views of Warsaw were available only from this building bcos it was the only place in the city from where the building could not be seen. haha...
View from the 30th floor, at 114metres with a panoramic view of the city.
Downstairs very happening lo, ice-skating in the city centre, out in the open, jin steady. =)
Colorful gloves on sale on the street. Since we are staying in an apartment, we decided to make full use of the facilities!

Cooked our own dinner that nite, mushroom spag!(We are not insane hor, hur hur hur)And after dinner, we decided to brave the weather, and go out for photo-takings, heh heh

*shiver* very cold.....Got to top up our fuel again! Head down to the dumpling shop again, and we had a large mix of dumplings served with lard mix with meat, bacon and mushrooms. And the 'flavours' of the dumplings:- meat- meat, cabbage and mushrooms (my fav)- mushrooms with cheese- potato with spinach- lentils, borderland style Total damage is 19.90zl for 11 pieces.Yum, Yum. =)And for those who like to shop in Warsaw, you have to visit the Terranova Outlet in Noey Swiat. Fabulous bargains! =)Labels: breakfast, warsaw
