Afternoon Tea Party

Wednesday, November 21, 2007

We were celebrating Peggy's birthday the other nite,
and there was an inspiration to organise an afternoon tea party!
without further delay, we decided to do it on the next holiday ~ Deepavali!

Potluck, yah, u be saying, 'argh, what else???'
however, it has been our group's culture, and we kind of lurve the idea, and so, we are sticking to it, at least for now. =)

MENU:
Photo
from SX and HL...the pizza and the ice-cream...

from me, the mini pastry (tuna and fruits)...

although the fruit tarts was not meant for this party, but im glad to include them anyway =)

felin's strawberry tart!

ah siang contributed the papaya, and also cut it for us himself.

The reason why I mentioned that he cut them, was becos, he didn't know how to cut!
and all of us were teasing him.... haha...
and for the record, he bought papaya that was not riped... =p

peggy came, with flour, sesame and sugar....

to bake the sesame cookies...

we had a mini library reading corner in the living. heh heh...

the group sitting together, spending quality time. =)

What's an afternoon tea, without fresh flowers?
I bought gerbera to brighten up the occasion, and then, they decided to use it as props...

having fun!! =)

peggy also brought our childhood game along!

many heads think better? many eyes more power??

HL even showed us some head stunt while she observed which stix can be picked!

The nite ended at Kembangan, where we went for some mee sua for dinner.

It was a long day, but it was a very relaxing gathering we had,
not too much food we prepared this time, just nice to fill our stomach(s),
and then, we just sat there round the table, to chit chat together. sharing some ideas and philosophy.
It was fate, that I got to know this bunch of pple. Most of us shared some 10+ years together...
maybe that's why we always have so much to talk about. from common friends to common jobs, to common events, and to uncommon happenings and philosophies....
it takes alot of give and take to have us still keeping in contact with each other after so many years, and as our friends found their partners, our group multiplies... =)
hmmmm....
i love the way we are maintaining this bond.... =)

nah, nothing much....just me babbling.... =)
oh, did i mention that livingstone and I be flying to bangkok the next day? yeah!!!

E m p e r o r C h i c k en

Tuesday, August 14, 2007

Been a long time since i prepare dinner for just the two of us.
chicken
steamed for 2+ hrs, the emperor herbal chicken came out hot hot from the stove,
tender, juicy and mmmmmmmmm, so fragrant....
oops. i dun normally praise my own prepared food la,
but this was really something i like. =)
vege
I used to always prepare at least 2 dishes and 1 soup, but think i hv to cut down on our diet,

too much good food, resulting in too much fats multiplied on our body.
time to cut down.
seah
for mabel, who asked what spices i used, it was simple,
buy this pack from the supermarket, rub the provided spices on the whole chicken,
wrap the chicken in the provided foil, and steam for 2+hrs.
viola! that was wat i did, for a good meal for 2.
simple, and no fuss. =)

I rem pple looking at their watches as we jogged past...... heh heh.....
they must hv thought... 'these pple must hv ran out from IMH / Woodbridge....'
we rest for a while before they accompany me to con't my journey to the airport,

i like the hwee-ling of cleaned floors under my feet, and sparkling clean toilet ! ooosh! :)

with insipiration from krabi's banana pancake, i made my own!

the crepe was bought from giant, it wasn't very nice, cos the skin was quite thick.

it was at telok blangah CC this time, and i stupidly thought it was the one opp mt faber safra, aiyo....

All Good things REALLY must come to an end.

Saturday, February 24, 2007

It is my last day in this company today.
I have nothing much to give my dearest colleagues, except loads of memories.
The fact is I always rave so much about the food I had over the many weekends, but Im guilty that I am not able to share it with them...
today, bcos I drove, I decided to pick a few and bring them there....

I have not d/l the pictures....but I wan to quickly pen down my thoughts before I lost the insipiration tml.....

We went to TDS for ice-cream, tanglin halt for laksa, and hup choon for the best yam ring and curry fish head IMO. They had them all...and I presented them my hearty-homebake-banana-cupcakes....

Im satisfied that I have shared what is good to me, to them, who is good to me too... :")

Very touched....
I didnt expect them to shower me with gifts, they were really unexpected...

Im touched, very touched that yuling remembers that I told her I like her tupperware when she brought hers to my hse the other day, and she gave me one. she remembers what I told her!!

Im touched, very touched that when terence and jill saw the accessories in my bathroom, and decided to buy me a lovely heart-shape pendant with chain....very significant!

Im touched, very touched that the group bought me a very beautiful sheafer pen (engrave with my name) with a very very nice soft leather card holder....Im gonna use it in my new job! Don't ever lost it JOJO!

Im extremely touched that many of them attended my farewell dinner...
some came from very far...

Im very touched. can u tell?

All good things must come to an end.
it has to.
Im very happy and blessed to have met this group of colleagues 3 years ago.
We helped each other brave thru deadlines, hammering and drilling onsite, helping each other troubleshooting the h/w and s/w, sharing woes, sharing joys, sharing knowledge, and lending a ear...
I almost cried when I dropped Meow at her block, while we hugged goodbye. Bcos she was the last person I dropped tonite.
Ladies and Gentlemen, I tell u, I count my blessings.
Im blessed that I am still able to find true frens in my career path even though many say true frens can only be found in school.
I hope it is bcos of my sincere nature that has made us so close. :)

I'll be starting a new life in abt 52hrs time.
In a new environment, with new colleagues....
well, the cycle begins all over again.
Good luck to me.

And, I love u guys....thank u so much for all that u have done for me for the past 3 yrs. :)
