It was an impromptu meetup. And we had yummy steamboat for dinner at Ngern's residence! HL thought peggy's b'day was round the corner, so wanted to celebrate the nov babies special day together. But it was way over. Since there was a mood for celebration, why not!?So i quickly arranged for the agar agar to be delivered to me before the impromptu party...sorry folks, not like I wanted this design, but it was like 'take it or leave it' kind of agony. If i dun accept this ready made agar agar, we will have no agar agar, and it will be plain old b'day cake. =)
three b'day candles for three nov babies!
not bad, they became the mix & match family! haha...
as we multiplied, there were now kids at our gatherings. Sometimes, I felt so aged...HAHApple, dun kill me! i noe im not the oldest... :pAnw, we are the mothers who will bring bb's toybox with us when we visit someone's hse.U rather they play quietly together then to ransack the hse for something they can play with isn't it?
Trust us, its more convenient this way. =)Labels: agar agar, bbfrens, bbtara, Birthday, dessert, party, steamboat, Surprise

I love homecook food.I don't rem dragging myself back home for dinner when I was young.or maybe jus once a while, when there are temptations to hv dinner with frens.... heh heh...Im lucky that my mom can cook!and I always like to jot down her recipes and make them on my own now.Afterall, I hope bbTara will be proud of me when she grows up too...I dun need her to tell anybody if she likes my food, she only needs to whisper in my ear, and that's just enuf.
 a one-pot kind of solution....easy and nice. =)
and just the other day, my MIL wanted us to bring home the pomelo...I never like to eat pomelo on its own...so I made us the mango+pomelo+sago dessert.... =)Labels: appreciative, bbtara, dessert, home cooked food, parenthood

we planned a few times after i delivered bbTara. It was either not available, or feeling unwell. haha...so, that nite, we FINALLY get to meet up at our place. =)I prepared pizzas, one hawaiian and one bbq chicken, but! How could I spread so little bbq sauce!??? I say my bbq pizza is an utter failure, and it was tasteless! How embarrassing....my apologies dear M1-sians! next time, i'll make up with something else. I promise.
we had salad as side, romaine lettuce with cherry tomatoes and ham, and with home made dressing that i really like.
beverage was red wine and for me, the non-alcoholic, Root Beer Float. =)
here are the ladies who was pretty obsessed witb bbTara.and thank God, bbTara was comfortable with them!

 now, who's who?
 heh heh....
So appreciate that they agreed to do the getherng at my place, instead of town, I could rest bbTara well, and so there was no disruption to her bedtime, after which, I can return to the dinner table to continue our chit chat session. And livingstone was there to help! Can u imagine, we indeed chatted like no tml, until ms chay said she had to leave for her sister's place, who were waiting to open the door for her. The clock read 11.30pm then.
To pamper my guest, I made my virgin chocolate cheesecake (use to make too many oreo cheesecake la).I heart the quality gathering that nite, and thanks so much for the lovely gift for bbTara, she is playing the tunes over and over again every day now! =)Labels: appreciative, bbtara, dessert, DIY, gathering, home cooked food, pizza, quality time

I am sure you know I seldom head to town, especially during weekends. Not unless I have stuff to get, or my family needs to go run some errands. With the fact that my right back (butt) hurts now when I walk too much, I didnt even meet up with my family during the weekend. But I had to go SIM LIM to get a transformer/adaptor for my new breastpump that my dear fren, Nicole, helped to lug back for me from the states (Thanks sooooo much Nicole!!!) I got the adaptor for jus $15, so nicole's help saved us SGD$220! YEAH!! Will post the breast pump soon. =) The sky was beautiful when we exited from SIM LIM Tower, can't help but to snap it....
Since we jus had lunch, and we were in town, we decided to head to the new dessert bar at Seventh Heaven. Juuuuuuust in case, bbTara pops, and I can't make more new discovery....haha Located at the old Gan Eng Seng Sec School, it was ulu, but very cosy.
Livingstone and me (37 weeks). The shop doesn't accept card or nets, and it so happens that we are cashless that day!!! So, livingstone had to drive out to the ATM, while I decides what to order...BRAVO! he will trust my selections, i know. =)
And so, I ordered two items, the above is 3-in-1 espresso ice-cream ($5.80), comes with brandied cherry. I love the biscuit accompanying the ice cream! sad to say, i think my tastebud hasn't been very sensitive to some food(s) ever since I reached the last stage of my preg, I couldn't really taste the strong espresso fragrance. Anyway, i still enjoy the creaminess and the sweet indulgence. And it happened that they are taking this item away from their menu come Nov. =) So, we were considered lucky! This is the brandied cherry. I can't take liquor, so livingstone took it.

Then, I also ordered the warm chocolate moist cake with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream ($7.80). We had to wait for 20mins for the cake, but let me tell u this, the wait is worth it! IMO, the sweetness of the cake is juuuuuust nice! As u bite into the moist cake, i can only think of the word 'heaven'....really really nice....
pair it with the vanilla ice cream, lagi best!
And since we were in town, we decided to head to vivocity for a movie.Wrong choice of movie, arghhhhhhhwatched the comedy by Ben Stiller - Tropic Thunder. Turned out to be the most awful show i had ever watched!
Yucks! Lucky I didnt pay $10 to watch the movie, with OCBC credit card, we had $2 off. The show was extremely boring, the first 10mins of the show alrd set me cursing and swearing, and i wanted to walk out....this show was full house for the slot somemore! arghhhh....waste time. Budd offered a birthday dinner for me, but these days, i prefer to tire myself out at home, and so I invited her over for dinner. Chilling out at home is much better then doing it outside for me now....imagine i cannot take many cold drinks now. My choices are limited. I probably have to sit up straight out at the restaurants, and I can't lounge comfortably, or lift my feet when i see water retention building up.... haha...Lucky she doesn't mind coming to my place becos of distance.... =)With that, I whipped up a dinner for her. And it is the first time in my 2 years since I DEEP-FRIED something in CORIS! haha...And my first attempt is Pork Cutlet coated with breadcrumbs. And i liked that! =)
 greens.....
 pizza......
 and mushroom spag.....
 dessert was fruit tarts!
Im glad she liked them.... =)
 More cam-whoring!!!
 One-to-five.... haha...
Thanks for the company budd.... =)I was indeed tired after the preparation, but I enjoyed it. Thank God, Livingstone was very helpful in cleaning up the aftermath.... =DLabels: Birthday, budd, coris, dessert, Dinner, pizza, quality time

That Saturday, we went to Terminal 3 for a shopping trip. The place is big enuf for ryan boy to begin his run. I kid u not, he started running in that big space, the moment we entered the air-conditioned area from the car park. NON-STOP.He ran and came back, ran and came back.....kindof reminds me of Forrest Gump. haha...Had dinner at Soup Restaurant. Beat the dinner crowd, so we were there at slightly before 6pm.
As usual, ryan always brings with him a toy. He is holding the 'dice' which can be transformed from motorbike to dinosaur.
 The signature dish, sansui chicken.
soup of the day - lotus root with pork ribs.
we ordered the set dinner. so it came with sliced fish fried with spring onions, and steamed pork in i-forgot-what-sauce. Yummy.
this is good. the gravy tasted like chili crab though it is prawns, and for ryan's sake, we asked the kitchen to cook it chili-less. =)
 brocolli with scallop and mushroom.
Total damage $118. DBS card gets another $5 voucher for the next visit. We proceeded to Playground @ Big Splash, but guess it was the worse choice ever, bcos there were so many cars waiting for parking lots! We left and went to tiong bahru plaza instead.Ever since the extension of the mall at the basement, we have not been there.Tried the dessert stall...I had the black sesame....
and livingstone had the mango shaved ice.

We always have potluck, so today we decided to change the style, and we cater for food instead!chose eatz catering, basically bcos they cater for mini courses, of cos it doesn't come with food warmer, jus the food in microwavable containers. Gd for up to 14 pple...We selected the Thai menu, and becos I noe pple will be asking wat is this dish, and wat is that dish, I decided to do up a standing menu for the nite. Now, that's a solution. =)
As usual, we will have late comers, so I prepared cheese fries and nacho chips for the early birds.
 here comes the main course:
 kailan with mushroom
 mango fish
 tamarind chicken
 mango salad
thai pineapple rice with seafood....alas! i forgot to snap the tom yam soup!!! - all this for $150 + $25 transport fee. No gst.
it doesnt feels like a home-party without some homemade stuff. So, i presented my humble almond longan.
and felin presented her home-made chng teng. Very yummy!
Peggy contributed the brownie bought at singtel cafe, while i got the ice-cream for her. yummy combi!
we had special guest that nite - adoh and steven, who really seldom join us for gathering. that's the two preggies to be due end of the year, we are just 1 mth different to be exact!
And the group foto taken in the rock room. Another successful gathering! =)The nite ended at 2am, with survivors chatting and watching tv in our hall. After they left, we couldn't get to sleep.....livngstone and i chatted till 4am! and we had to wake up the next morning for work.....arghhhh.....so much for an active brain....Labels: dessert, DIY, Food, gathering, quality time
