My sister must have felt guilty for not being able to meet us this june holiday, due to an increase to ryan boy's tennis lessons.She took a day's leave, so that we can all spend a day together.Thanks Thanks Thanks!!I quickly planned for the day, and since she was the pay master for our high tea, I had to choose Rose Veranda. The place I long wanted to go... heh heh
There is not much to rave about the food to be honest. It was just decent, with salad bar, main courses, dim sum, sashimi+sushi, pastries and desserts. My asian-blooded mum of cos didnt enjoy the spread like we did.After a serving of mee goreng (alike), fish, and dim sum, she headed straight to the kuei line.Even the 102 selections of premium tea, didnt please her.While the rest of us walked to the line several times, eating and sipping the tea, like a tai tai in the making.And I had my long-craved-and-satisfied share of sashimi and dessert! yum!The best thing is, the high tea, unlike other hotels, end at 6pm. So there is no rush here.We took our own sweet time. After the high tea, which ended for us at 4pm (thank god the kids were ok for the long session there!), we drove to Resort World Sentosa. Ha, finally walk the galleria, with hand empty and spending no single cent. haha.But, we rushed to United Square after that, and spent lots of monies. This GSS will be the month my credit card bill will come in pages, im sure.

When I didnt cook, I like to think of places we can go when livingstone comes home at nite.He's nice, though after a day's work, he doesnt mind going almost anywhere with us. =)Last nite, I suggested that we go to Rivervale Mall!ah-ah...no car day for us. We are taking the LRT. :)Having been staying at North East for the past three years, I enjoyed the comfort of taking public transport as much as possible, this is especially so after the arrival of bbTara...really so much easier.The car will be reserved for other places =)This is the first time for us in the LRT. bbTara had fun eyeballing the short train ride! So did livingstone....The extra incentive for going there now is the opening of DAISO!oooh-hooo.....we shopped there till all the shops were closed! how comfortable we were in there!

my sister is the tow-kay the other day. She is giving us a treat for her fat bonus received! yippie! and i get to choose a restaurant. Since we were heading to VIVO, I promptly selected BOSSES.
nvr mind abt the minority of bad critics i read so far.
Anw, the interior & deco attracted me quite a fair bit. With such baroque setting, it doesn't feels like a chinese restaurant.
and while i was taking foto of the peking duck, the supervisor came up to me, and said 'sorry, no photographs'....ok lo...
anw, i quickly snap a 'grp picture' of the various animals on the dining table. =) the entire experience was ok for me, the food was pretty much on the higher salty scale, and my mom didnt like it, considering she was someone who could tahan savoury dishes. While I feel it was ok as long as I eat them with my rice. We had some fried durian and durian mochi for dessert, which I suggest you can pass them totally.Sista wanted to get bbtara a gift since she couldnt enjoy the feast. So we were at Toys 'R' us choosing and choosing, and just when I thought that we shld leave bcos none of the toys attracted her...my sista came up with a Vtech toy. She grab the toy and was playing happily with it, so that was it. it would hv burnt my pocket, becos it cost a hundred bucks. So embarressing, i didnt teach bbtara to choose toys base on cost hor....vtech is to blame.Just when we were abt to leave the mall, i spotted the huggies team with the launch of their new jeans pants diapers. And I vaguely recalled, receiving an email abt this event. I walked up to the roadshow, and saw that they were taking fotos of bbs sitting on the bike for a foto contest. The good news is, they are wrapping up for the day soon, and thus not many pple were queuing. For the fun of it, why not ya? =)

We spent our last saturday shopping for my dress to attend budd's wedding....And after bbtara had her lunch, we head down to vivo city.there, she went touring ard vivo (in her stroller) with daddy, while mommy went ahead to the fitting rooms with my handful of selections... =) heh heh...Let me imagine, maybe soon enuf, i will have her in my fitting room, telling me which pc is nice, and which is not huh? hur hur hurwe also went to iluma to check out the new mall, and then to bugis village to look for kai ma....and talk abt tt, budd, send me the pictures!back at home, it was past 10pm...before i gave bbtara her nite shower for the day, we made fun of her....does she look like she has antenna on her head? wahaha...

The truth is I offended my mom, and so I labelled a Damage Control Day on my calendar, asked her out for lunch, and spent some quality time with her out in town.
Lunch was supposed to be at YUM CHA, but it was drizzling when I reached ChinatownMRT station, and with bbTara in tow, and without a rain cover for the stroller, it was impossible.
So I suggested taking the train to Raffles City instead.
And we promptly decided on Ding Tai Feng. It was donkey years back since I last dine in this restaurant. And it was becos I didnt find the food fantastic at all, despite the queues we see everytime we passed by the Tampines Mall branch.
we ordered the xiao long bao, and one of it came 'punctured', the server confessed to us, and made up for another one...
besides this, we had the steam shrimp dumpling, hot and sour soup and yam bao.my comments are still the same. Only the xiao long bao is eat-able.
When we fill up our tummy, it was bbTara's turn. As usual, I brought her to the baby room on the 4th level, where she can quietly enjoy her milk.After which, I decided to choose a set of cutlery for her as we shld be able to start her on semi solid food next mth!
I just picked up all the spoons and bowls I saw, and placed them all in front of her!Now, she has the liberty to choose her own. =)
she usually falls asleep when we were shopping.....awesome!
and this was what she chosed. =)After raffles city, we walked to suntec city for carrefour and dinner. And as livingstone had to work late that nite, I had to make my way home on my own. I must say I am so uber delighted that bbTara never gave me any trouble during our ride in the train, or while we were shopping and eating. She's such a lovely girl! It was our 'once-in-a-while' family day, just the three of us.You see, saturdays were largely reserved for my family, while sundays were reserved for livingstone's family. So.....There we were that day at Raffles City, after bbTara had a nap at home. And while we were deciding wea to go for lunch, livingstone said 'shokudo'!haha....ya, looks like it became our fav restaurant for now. :)
and we had the same table agn! good place to park the stroller!
the menu was:
this huge burger was really yum-yum, sandwiched with thick juicy beef patty, lettuce, tomatoes, mushroom and even an egg, I had trouble dividing it into two portions, becos it was simply stacked too high for cutting...haha
this was good too, but we thought the burger was betta. :)
and this beef fillet was so unforgettable since the last time we had it! so, it became our must have everytime now.

I told you livingstone was on leave, and there were places to go, errands to run and things to buy. Jus the day before, we took bbtara on north east line train, to compasspoint, to setup her first savings account and CDA. We were there in the afternoon, and I was so glad that we combed the entire shopping mall after tat, level by level, with bbtara in tow. There was nothing much to buy, but i enjoy the free time the three of us had together, doing the same thing, and enjoying it to bits!! And public transport means we dun need to buckle her on her car seat, she gets to sit in her stroller all the way, no need to keep the stroller and no need to hunt for parking lots! yeah! daddy and mommy can relak....While the next day, our objective is to get our house a DVD recorder. We head down to Liang Court, Audio House. And we had to settle our lunch first. After so many donkey years, I finally put a feet into Liang Court shopping mall again. Used to go there so frequently when DAIMARU was still alive! Brother always like to bring me there for swensens with her always-changing-gf...hiak hiak hiak...And during that era, Swensens is so high class to me alrd lo....hur hur hur...Ya, the mall had a revamped. Still as quiet as before, many jap eateries, and we finally chose this HK cafe.

We are clueless which unit to purchase, and we decided to check out the models only on that day. Spoke to the sales promoter, and settled with pioneer's DVR-550H (Dream, im helping ur coy hor....!) 160GB hdd, now i can record the shows i always missed when i had to attend to bbtara! I am so happy!
And since we were in town, we decided to pop by Orchard. Wow, how come weekday still so crowded, completely different from the Liang Court I jus left.

bbTara went for her first jab last week. Both me and livingstone were preparing for the worse of her cries...Yet, to our ultimate surprise, she did not even squeak when the paeds push that needle into her butt!! Thank God!! How brave she was! or it was probably bcos she doesnt recognise what pain is (yet). haha...bbTara was very cooperative for the rest of the day, we left her in her stroller to nap all the way, while we shopped for the x'mas gifts....Yes, u heard it, all the way! I guess the jab made her so drowsy that she didnt give a damn. haha...The beautiful shower series foto that i love so much....

We woke up to a rainy morning once again. But having been there for a few days, we noe that the rain will not stay for too long.So, we proceeded to Lantau Island, hoping that the rain will stop during our journey, so that we can at least take the cable car.And so, by the time we reached the MTR station of Ngong Ping 360 cable car station, the rain stopped. yippeee!!!But the wind was strong. So while in the cable car, we can feel the entire car shaking.....it is quite scary, considering the accident that had happened before, and the recent frequent jam caused by the strong wind and typhoon.

a change of taste from HK food, we had italian at the Spaghetti House. Nice.And its more shopping after the Buddha visit!

You must have heard that there was quite a serious typhoon in HK recently. In fact when we were there, there were many short heavy rain and passing showers. We carried umbrellas with us everywhere....and we needed to find a gd day to visit Lantau island.So, since day 3 was a rainy day (again), we took a train to Wong Tai Sin first.
4 of us bought the octopus card - 3 days pass, so u can see us stations hopping...it's a better thing to do, cos we can beat the traffic jam on the roads.
Then its to Central for some leisure walk.
On the oldest style flight of stairs....
OOooh....can see my tummy growing yah.... =) No prob! still can climb!

Then, my MIL exclaimed that she has been to this restaurant before, u see, she has went on this package tour many years ago, the theme was 美食团, and they brought her to this restaurant, that serves the best 烧腊. So, we decided to do it here. Bloody long queue, all waiting customers were given queue numbers at the entrance, and waiting by the staircase of the restaurant. We ended up having to share our table with another 3 person (strangers).
The roasted platter - roasted pig, roastedchar siew, roasted goose. ok la. meat were quite tough i thought.

and finally stopped for dinner at a eatery....I had wantan mee....so so la....
Livingstone had 出钱一丁with char siew and golden mushroom....
 the char siew tasted really frozen.... After sending my in laws back to the hotel, we were wondering in the streets again...until 12mn.when we returned to the hotel, I couldn't feel bb's movement as I lie down (usually I would). I honestly got a little panicky and started to simulate some movements from bb, like shifting my body around on the bed...but she still hasn't moved at all...I told Livingstone abt it, and he laid his hands on my tummy, calling out to bb...'bb high five daddy!' PONG! bb kicked exactly the spot that daddy laid hands on.....no, im not bluffing...its true. Its a coincident maybe, but it made my night peaceful after tat... =)Labels: baby, Food, HK, Shopping
