When bubble tea is not exactly the same

It always happens that we will stand in the queue with the rest when we see a bubble tea outlet (anywhere). The orders are fixed for livingstone and me - Yam milk tea and milk tea respectively.
That hot afternoon in Tampines, we joined the queue agn.
Placed our order....and to our 'horror' the boss say,
"sir, yam dun go well with milk tea, can i recommend you my shop's speciality? yam smoothie. very nice. i gurantee u. made with the freshest ingredient, u won't regret it.'
.....we are speechless....and he gave us the assuring smile and a thumbs up sign.
i said 'horror' bcos this is the first time someone ever care to explain this much to us on the subject of 'bubble tea'.
Anyway, we compromised, and gave him the nod.
Livingstone was indeed impressed with his yam smoothie, me too. =)
The boss blended it with fresh yam and ice-cream, and of cos i dunno what else...haha...
no pearl no milk tea...
but the texture is jus nice, no biting of crush ice, and the yam has a lingering smell when u sip the smoothie. very unique.
Seeing how livingstone enjoyed his smoothie, I was tempted to try other varieties.... =)
So, I ordered chendol.
Boss say his chendol very special, all the kachang is blended so u dun bite them when u sip...
nice. but yam smoothie is still the best so far.

this shop takes part in many corporate events, where he make many hundreds of smoothies/milk tea in a day...

He is located just opposite Temasek Poly.

Our smoothies.

We'll be going back for more. =)
