Astons Express
Two years ago, we tried astons at katong. Ever since then, they have many outlets, and we have not revisited them.
With the new astons express at tampines (and apparently, i heard there is no queue compared to katong outlet), we headed that direction for dinner.
OK, for ur eyes only, the things we ordered....
cream of mushroom with 2 pcs garlic bread - In our opinion, e blackboard serves better soup.
chicken chop for livingstone - the gravy for the chicken chop was oily. mashed potato tasted instant.
I skipped steak that nite, and had pork chop. the baked potato only came with a chunk of butter, no cheese, no bacon bits. The coleslaw was good. The gravy for the pork chop doesnt look appetising, maybe bcos of the color. But tasted alrite. Meat was lean. I prefer western chow's gravy.
Overall, i think since it is a aston express, the standard cannot be compared to the one at katong. So, my expectations wasn't that high afterall. For a hawker centre or coffeeshop western food, i think i will still prefer e-blackboard.
