Choon Seng Ponggol Seafood (@Turnhouse)
My in laws and family decided to give me an early birthday treat, jus before my SIL left for the states for her holiday.
She suggested going to the new Choon Seng Ponggol Seafood at Turnhouse road. (Warning: Super ulu!!!!!)
Edgar and livingstone...both in stripes. =)
the first dish, something like peking duck....
yum yum....(more like popiah.... haha)
a platter of some deep fried prawn thingy and hgoh hiang. Nice.
the signature dish, mee goreng. Spicy and good.
Crab Bee Hoon - they were all saying that it was very gd, but somehow, when i drank the soup, I find that the crab taste not strong enuf. Maybe my pregnanancy hormones is being mischeivious.... hur hur hur...
but this is shiok! salted egg with crab! yum yum!! savoury and crispy.
The overall dining experience at this colonial house turned restaurant was comfortable. Food is good, but I might not drool to go back again. Most likely becos I feel the menu is not attractive enuf and the price is quite steep. On a weekday nite, there were only our table and 2 other tables being occupied. But, its definitely a very nice cosy place for private function such as a private wedding! with the chandelier lightings and clean look, i think it looks romantic with a touch of wedding decor!
Thanks to my family who brought us there for dinner! and to celebrate my birthday in advance! my MIL even gave me and angpow! so pai sey la.....got bbtara alrd still got ang pow!.... =p
