Yet Con Chicken Rice at Purvis Street

Stepping into Yet Con, we felt like we had gone back in time.
The mosaic floor, marble-topped wooden tables, and tiled walls... hmmmm...
Yet Con, one of the original and oldest Hainanese chicken rice eating houses in Singapore, is located in one of the old shophouses along Purvis Street. Its only sign of modernity is its fully air-conditioned interior.

I didnt know wat to order, so we tell her, we want chicken, roasted meat and vege for two persons. The order came VERY FAST. even faster then fast food...

The chicken didnt come with any sauce, same goes to the roasted meat. The chicken comes with an orignal taste without those heavy sesame oil and soy sauce. And it wasn't oily.

The roasted pork looked BLACK (a.ka. chow tar)! doesn't look very appetising, guess presentation is really not a priority for Yet Con afterall.

The stir fried kai lan looked decent and tasted mediocre.

Our total bill came up to about S$24.80, which was rather expensive...
As we sat there for the past 30mins, customers keep streaming in....I supposed Yet Con has its devoted fans who like their chicken rice the homely and old-fashioned way. They also served tze char and steamboat.
Like me, if you want to be transported back in time, try it out.
But for quality chicken rice, singaporeans will know they are almost everywhere in singapore....
