Daddy's Bonding Time

Sunday, May 31, 2009

When Daddy gets home every evening...it is also my time to partially switch off.
More like on standby mode.
As long as Daddy is not tired, I leave the both of them to bond...
And I think such dedicated bonding time is essential and important for the bb to feel close to father. and for bb to see daddy as not just a playmate, but a caregiver...

and after dinner, I will volunteer to wash the plates, so that livingstone can spend time with his dotter. But I noe most of the time, he felt bad to have me washing up since I have alrd been doing the hse chores while at home, including preparing the dinner...so we ended up 'i wash la,', 'no need la, i wash la, u be with bb'.... haha

and after the nite shower, bbtara enjoys more bonding time with daddy, when daddy is in the mood for story telling....

how sweet. =)

DIY dinner

Monday, February 23, 2009

In fact, ever since bbtara joins the family, I hv more time to prepare dinner at home.
Now, we eat-in almost every alternate days, sometimes everyday, depending on what I have in my fridge....
And, the basic must-have dish is the soup. :)
That day, i ran thru my freezer, and found the fish that my mom gave me during CNY. she got it for me, becos she noes that is my fav fish. I dunno what it is called in english, but she told me it is the 'ang(3)-zou(2)'.

DIY dinners doesn't have to be lavish in my opinion, doesn't need to spend the whole day in the kitchen, what I did here was to simply prepare the soup a few hours in advance, dumping in all the neccessary ingredients for a chinese chicken soup and simply let it boil over low heat....and the fish, ha! best....i only need to prepare the ingredients, and dump the whole thing into the steamer....dinner will be served when livingstone is back. :)

of cos, sometimes i stir fry vege, or meat....cleaning up isn't a hassle to us, in actual fact, i find cleaning up therapeutic. i ain't kidding, i noe u are laughing, but its true. it happens when i see a dirty stove, or a dirty plate comes clean under my hands.... haha........=p
but im extra blessed that livingstone shares the washing with me, someone needs to stay with bbtara afterall.... =)

Weekends on our own

Monday, August 04, 2008

------- Saturday ---------

Was "given-a-day-off" from my family last weekend, so we had time for just the two of us. =p
Though both of us hated weekend crowd in town, we decided to go ahead, cos i need to revamp my lingerie drawer! heh heh.... wat a gd excuse isn't it?....hur hur hur
La Senza was on sale! bravo!
we spent almost 4 hrs in just suntec alone. couldn't believe it!
But it was all good. I am appreciative that bb didn't give me much trouble during the walks, and livingstone was very accomodating. =)

------- Sunday ---------

It was house chores day, exclusively. =) I was complaining that the hse was rather dusty....and so, u can say i have the privilege to 'give commands' as a pregnant wife, but i rather say livingstone was sweet enuf to spend the day doing hse chores with me. *grin*

we had to split the tasks, so we changed the bedsheet together, he washed both the toilets and the fridge, i mopped the floor (while he twist & dry the mop for me when i need to rinse it), and i cleaned the window grilles. Finally washing and hang-drying the bedsheet covers....took us like almost 5hrs! Feeling hungry, so I whipped up my own DIY-CQYD-noodle and baked some chicken meat. While he DIY peach cooler....voila, our DIY lunch..... heh heh... wonderfulous!!!

It is very enjoyable to relax in our own dining area after the intensive cleanup, and praising how clean our hse becomes now, haha....
