Have you tried this before?I will be very honest, you can drive or walk past this shop and give it a total miss. No need to patronise it at all. I am serious. It is not my 1st time there, the other time, the quality of the food was still acceptable, this time we were back there becos i was at sembawang....but it was a mistake.
for a 2 person portion, this cost $9.40.The gravy was gluey, super duper gluey. fried tao-kee was super salty.
And I was stupid to order the dumpling soup when the lady ask me if i want.have you taken dumpling skin with a 2mm fillings inside, they call it shui-kao, i call it tissue paper with mucus. yucks. very awful. They must have cooked the soup with alot of ajinomoto too. I was asking for water for a few hours after this meal.
We had their chicken rice, which, ok, i think is mediocre. some quality u can get anywhere. was it me? or was the food really awful? the taste bud changed becos i am pregnant?maybe u can go find out urself. But dun say I didnt warn you.(I know its a famous place for ampang ytf.....but....WTH, I dunno how some pple can swallow this and still say 'quite nice la')Labels: awful food, chicken rice, dumplings, ytf
Many many years ago, we had this in Paris, back here, I havent really seen a bakery that sells them. But then again, maybe I havent been hitting the right place...Recently, it looked like it had gain some popularity here, I have seen some places selling it as speciality already! This time, I got it from a home-baker. The collection was pretty far, at sembawang.I kept livingstone in suspense as we drove to the 'collection point.
He was quite surprise that we had to travel the distance to collect the macarons, but as he put it into his mouth, he tell me its worth it. haha....
I bought 3 flavours:1) Mangue - mango macarons with mango puree cream2) Cafe noisette - hazelnut coffee macarons with hazelnut espresso cream3) Lychee rose - rose macarons with juicy lychee bits rose petal scented cream, finished with a sprinkle of ground rose petals
we finished 4 within minutes after collection, right in the car! It was yummy! but damn expensive...
the remaining 16 pcs were packed in seperate boxes of 8 like the one above... love the colors.....

She always complain that I cooked for others, but not her. I rem ok!So, I volunteered to JUST DO IT on that day....Menu:1) coris seafood fried udon2) boil brocoli + carrot with japanese mayo3) coris baked chicken wings / drumlets4) coris oreo cheese cake5) almond longan 6) coris peach coolerThe prep work starts as early as 11am on my own! I had to go to NTUC, Shop and Save and Cold Storage in the morning to get ALL the ingredients! haha... cheesecake done! I was so happy, cos it didnt crack this time! yippee!!
She suddenly came up with this plot, kinda looked scary ya! haha....
It felt like donkey years since I last baked the oreo cheesecake. I personally had cravings for it, which explained why the last min baked. This time I used the water bath method, and it saved the cake for being disfigured! haha... and I also used digestive biscuit as the crust this time round cos I rem someone told me that oreo crust tasted too oreo....the verdict? livingstone and I preferred the oreo crust! =)
the ingredients for home made cheesecake is getting much more expensive.... arghhhh....Labels: dessert, Dinner, home cooked food, quality time
