Im still not a fan of Carl's Junior. We had it, becos Ah-Dee wants to eat. =p it was labelled 'special' bcos we ask them to cut the burgers into 2. we all had mushroom burger.it doesn't taste fantabulous, then why are they charging so high for a fast food??Labels: Food
Like i always say, it doesn't have to be chinese new year, to have everybody sitting on the same table eating together, sharing the same dishes.... that sunday, it happened again. It was probably becos of our modern lifestyles that has made me cherish the quality time i have wif my family. Simple dishes from my mom's wok easily satisfies me..... =) Szechuan pork rib soup! yummy! D' present was bought,
D' menu was thought,
it was anticipating for the actual celebration day! :)
I was supposed to bake some pastries on Friday nite.
It was so that i can wake up on Saturday morning and just concentrate on cooking my food for the potluck party (oh man, did i jus say potluck? again???)
but.....Kee called livingstone on Friday nite, and said it was a long time since we dropped by their place for a game of mahjong (and of cos with my MIL), so, we decided to leave the baking to the next day, the excuse was, the pastry will be fresher as I baked on the same day. :)
The nite of mahjong ended at 4am.
I woke up on Saturday morning 9am, to bake and to cook.
my timeline is 3 hrs. as i hv to meet rachel at 1pm (which was later postpone to 1.30pm).

I was supposed to meet my MIL and SIL for a mani+padi session on Tuesday nite. the place is at Serangoon gardens. I checked up the internet, and got to know how to travel to my destination via train and bus, however, when i knock off, I figured it will be better to catch a cab instead. Ya, it spells, plain lazy for me. =( Much to my dismay, I wasted abt 50mins on waiting for a cab at suntec, and getting myself stuck in the massive peak hour jam. the taxi meter reads $17/-. Gosh, heartpain la, only got myself to blame. heh heh....
They were drying their nails when I reached, so i figured I better jus do padi, so that they don't have to wait too long for me (I was late for my appt for 30mins!)
So, to make up, I gave them a treat for dinner. =) (I used my SIL's padi package....heh heh)
well, it was a short meetup, but i value it.more like a Q u a l i t y t i m e spent with family on a weekday nite. =)

Been a long time since i prepare dinner for just the two of us. steamed for 2+ hrs, the emperor herbal chicken came out hot hot from the stove, tender, juicy and mmmmmmmmm, so fragrant....oops. i dun normally praise my own prepared food la,but this was really something i like. =)
I used to always prepare at least 2 dishes and 1 soup, but think i hv to cut down on our diet, too much good food, resulting in too much fats multiplied on our body.time to cut down. for mabel, who asked what spices i used, it was simple, buy this pack from the supermarket, rub the provided spices on the whole chicken, wrap the chicken in the provided foil, and steam for 2+hrs.viola! that was wat i did, for a good meal for 2.simple, and no fuss. =)Labels: cooking, Dinner, Food, inspired, quality time, Romantic
