although I dunno her personally, but I am sobbing uncontrollably when I read Cynthia's words, words that came from the bottom of her heart. Being a new mother myself, I can feel the pain she has... pls help if u can... Fight on! Charmaine!
The doorbell rang on a weekday afternoon. But I knew it was them even before I peeped thru the doorviewer...just that I didnt expect them to tow bbShanelle together as well. a family outing! love their expressions...really leh, the smile fr a mother while looking at their bb....is really special. maybe kind of like a satisfied and contented expression...as in, with her bb in her arms, nothing else matters... the four mth old Shanelle.... then bbtara joins in the fun! put the bbs together! bbtara looked at shanelle as if asking 'wat is so farnie huh?' hiak hiak hiak...
has'nt been really picture-documenting her bath & bodyworks session lately... she has grown... my mom always say the tub is not enuf for her alrd... and she is now sitting up for her bath... =) our big bb....
Last Sunday, we met up with Daniel and Tricia for ang-mor style breakfast, at Jones the Grocer. it was packed packed packed at 10am....had to even wait a while for our table.
Dressing up bbTara for the morning outing...did i mention, she gets excited when she sees books... mommy is giving her tight fit top and tight fit shorts, lol... in the car, trying to chew off her socks.... at Jones the Grocer, our cheerful bb.....thank God! she behaves yet agn, sitting in the high chair, while all of us had our breakfast and talkative chit chat session.... =) unker daniel wears green too, wat nice shades they have! at abt 11pm+, we can tell she was pretty sleepy, cos she had missed her morning nap....and when i took over to carry her, it was as if she fell unconscious all of a sudden! and slept all the way,....but it was neat, back at home, by the time she woke up, i had her lunch cooked. =) Breakfast with unker daniel and aunty tricia! have fun in Paris!! =) and thank u livingstone, once again, he slept at 4am the nite before, but kept his promise and joined us for breakfast early in the morning the next day.... :)
We spent our last saturday shopping for my dress to attend budd's wedding.... And after bbtara had her lunch, we head down to vivo city. there, she went touring ard vivo (in her stroller) with daddy, while mommy went ahead to the fitting rooms with my handful of selections... =) heh heh... Let me imagine, maybe soon enuf, i will have her in my fitting room, telling me which pc is nice, and which is not huh? hur hur hur
we also went to iluma to check out the new mall, and then to bugis village to look for kai ma....and talk abt tt, budd, send me the pictures!
back at home, it was past 10pm...before i gave bbtara her nite shower for the day, we made fun of her.... does she look like she has antenna on her head? wahaha... we, the naughty parents ...hiak hiak hiak
jus the other afternoon, felin couldn't get her books into her head, and she had to sit for the draggy paper the next day...so she popped over to study....
and when bbtara wakes up, it was playtime... =) Thank God! she passed the paper! hurray!! no more agonies... haha
thanks to our dear fren, Felin - she volunteered to prepare sukiyaki for our gathering this mth! and we contributed by joining her in marketing for the groceries and stuff the nite before, while she single-handedly prepare the sukiyaki itself and sushi! thanks soooooooooo much! they were so delicious!! =D Now it inspires me to try it out myself,....hur hur hur... the crowd: 1 grp of newspaper readers a.k.a library corner, and the other, the AV grp.... YUM! YUM YUM! not forgetting the kiddos! they of cos get to mingle agn! heh heh do we like the food? yes of cos! we could tell fr ah siang's expression.... =)
At the back of my mind, I noe we should visit this place to have our own feel (after hearing some say this place serves gd food, has gd concept, while some say not worth the money) So, on a Thursday evening, I talked livingstone into having our dinner there. not bad, but didnt leave an impression. ...............I dunno wat to say.... It looks appetising ya? and most of the dining tables had a serving of this. livingstone and I were anticipating for this dish with high expectations....prove to be wrong. arghhh.....now the taste of this dish came back to me jus by looking at this pic.... almost sent me to the toilet throwing up now as i type. I KID U NOT. awful! (to make matters seem worse, we actually struggled to finish this dish) this.....cold, tasteless. only the chicken cutlet is passable. if there is no ketchup, I would hv throw this dish into the bin. AWFUL agn. (oh yes, livingstone commented that century sq's food court served better omu rice!) ok, of cos I couldn't miss the much raved abt fruit tart. ordered this pc of strawberry and choc tart and paid $1 for a cuppa earl grey. Didnt leave a lasting impression for me either, the tart contains mostly of whipped cream. Though I shld say that the sweetness was actually just nice. But it didnt compensate for the price I paid ($7.80 for this slice). I guess I was expecting a much better tart.
All in all, the damage for that evening was $35. I didnt scream at that price tag, but we were very sure that this will be our LAST visit. As for the environment, it was messy and cramp to us. Imagine snaking pass the passageway with bowls of hot ramen soup or hotplates and with children walking fast around you....I see that as a potential hazard.... and Thank GOD! we didnt have to q up to go in. anw, some bloggers mention that the restaurant had gone bananas after the japanese chef left the locals on their own while having trained them for a mth.... and, for a consolation, bbtara was quietly sleeping in her stroller while we enjoy swallow our food.
Another eatery which proves Shodoku is still a better choice for food and environement with the same concept.
This is my first attempt in making homemade pasta sauce. Anw, for the past few years, cooking pasta equates to bottled-and-ready-to-eat-sauces... =)
Coincidentally, EVERYDAY FOODshowed a recipe of Tortellini in Mushroom Sauce, and boi...me was craving for the best tortellini WE EVER HAD - in a small restaurant in Budapest, owned by a Roman... and while shopping in carrefour the other nite, i spotted tortellini (3 cheese) in a pack...why not now then?
I modified the recipe to add some bacon and used portebella instead of shitake mushroom. Used grated mozarella instead of parmesan. My first attempt. Bye bye bottled sauce? =)
is this obvious that she does not like apples? sheryl says bbtara looked like she is eating a lime...wahahaha we'll try again, afterall, this is her first taste of fruit. but she does prefers pear for now. =)
I was conversing with benny the other nite over msn, discussing abt laptop and..... W I N D O W S vista 7 ... then, it got me all curious, how come microsoft named it '7'? so then, i was tasked to find out the reason.. aiyo...actually it was rather simple:
"Some of you people must be still struggling to know why Microsoft chose the name ‘Windows 7’ for it’s yet to be released newer version of Windows Operating System. Particularly, why the number 7?
To simply put, this is the seventh release of Windows, so therefore "Windows 7" just makes sense." If we go back to the history and make a note of names of the earlier versions of Windows OS, then it’s a bit more complicated. So, the decision to use the name Windows 7 is about simplicity. Since, Microsoft doesn’t ship new versions of Windows every year, using a date do not make sense much as well. Ahh…Wait! Since you have already entered into my blog, how can I let you go without making sure you know precisely on the earlier different OS milestones Microsoft have crossed so far? So, let me get started. The very first release of Windows was Windows 1.0. The second was Windows 2.0 and the third was Windows 3.0. Quite simple! The next is where things have gotton a little more complicated. Following Windows 3.0 was Windows NT which was code versioned as Windows 3.1. Then came Windows 95, which was again code versioned as Windows 4.0. Then, Microsoft released Windows 98, 98 SE and Windows Millennium each shipped as 4.0.1998, 4.10.2222, and 4.90.3000 respectively. So, Microsoft swept all 9x versions as 4.0. Windows 2000 code was 5.0 and then the Windows XP was 5.1, Although Windows XP was a major release, Microsoft didn't want to change its code version number in order to bring greater flexibility in the maximize application compatibility. This brings the Windows platform to Windows Vista, which is 6.0. So, this is how we can see Windows 7 as Microsoft’s next logical significant release and 7th in the family of Windows releases."
we havent met bbRena for a while, isnt it? look at her, like a replica of daddy sean! and she has got her mommy's beautiful eyes.... cute habit la! squeeze her nose upwards! haha... and she has got unusually long tongue tt she has to flaunt it!! ha ha... bbfrens... we seldom get the chance to meet up, bcos of our commitments and many many activities during the weekends! So, here we were grabbing the opportunity to catch up on a sat afternoon, but it was time tooooooo short, not enuf la!!.... :)
After the unusual brekkie in town last weekend, we decided that we shld localised ourselves. nah...it was actually a convenient excuse, bcos livingstone slept at 4am the nite before (movie marathon, wat else?). So, we went downstairs for kopitiam after bbTara's milk.. the curious baby... entertained herself while we enjoy our breakfast...
then, after our grocery shopping in NTUC, it started to rain cats and dogs! being me, I didnt want to sweat over the small stuff....so I suggest we walk to the porch, then sit and wait, while I sang 'raindrops keep falling on my head...thump thump thump...' to bbTara... slowly, she fell asleep. =) so wat if we were stranded in the rain....livingstone was still able to read the papers, and my baby was still able to catch her morning nap. =)
we had an early fathers' day dinner for my FIL, before he flew to China on Sunday. Parents wanted to try Yan Palace, and we were pretty impressed with their private room...wahahaha, rosewood antique style sofa, big screen KTV, can switch to national TV somemore...lol and being KTV-deprived, the brothers had to sing a few songs ... hee bbtara in the high chair...and u got to see the real high chair... very very old skool kind ya! stunned bbtara...'how come nobody behind the camera also can take....??'
We painted very nice pictures of us disciplining our children before we even have our offsprings. We look forward to gluing them to their seats on the dining table, until the dinner is over, afterall, this is table manners that ought to be taught since young, in our opinion. Having said that, we all know that this is no easy task. However, we have seen kids that has done the same, and we are impressed.
So, it is now time to inculcate this mannerism to bbTara.
Since she was abt 2mths young, we have the habit of placing her next to the dining table when livingstone and I had our dinners. She couldnt sit up back then, so she will lie down on her fisher price rocker. Now that she is able to sit, we have moved her to her highchair, and sit with us while livingstone and I enjoy our breakfast and dinners.
So far so good. And I hope she will con't to be this coperative.
Now, whenever we are out for meals, she will be seated in highchairs. No bao bao, even in kopitiams.... pray hard she continues to be this good.
There are some dishes that I like to repeat cook on some cooking days. Livingstone especially loves this simple baked cod fish. Seriously, the aroma of the terriyaki sauce indeed diffuse completely into our hse when I baked it... and one day I am in the mood of steaming, and using up my BRANDS chicken of essence, so I googled and found a recipe for 'dang gui chicken with chicken of essence' YUM! livingstone gave this a thumbs up! (dono he got bluff me or not la)
